EASTHAM — The Nauset High boys track team finished fourth overall at the MSTCA Division 4 Relays hosted by Dracut High School on Saturday. Wakefield Memorial was first, followed by Burlington and Melrose.
The Warriors’ 4×100 relay team — seniors Paytah Dill and Damian Bebber and juniors Aidan Brown and Isaiah Robinson — finished second with a school record of 43.86 seconds to qualify for the Nike Elite Nationals in Oregon in June. The 4×200 team — Brown, Damian Bebber, sophomore Reed Dill, and junior Dominic Bebber — set a school record of 1:33.76 on their way to a third-place finish.
The boys hurdles relay team won the meet, while the boys long jump team — the Dill brothers and Dominic Bebber — and the triple jump relay team — the Bebber brothers and Robinson — both placed third.
The girls’ hurdle relay team — seniors Haley Labdon, Mackenzie Still, and Samantha McIsaac and sophomore Anika Valli — medaled with a sixth-place finish.
The Nauset track teams both improved to 4-0 with wins over Sturgis East on Tuesday. The boys won 83-53, and the girls raced to a 97-38 victory.
Nauset baseball (9-2) picked up its eighth straight win, blanking Falmouth 8-0 at Guv Fuller Field on Friday, but the streak came to an end in a 6-3 loss to Sandwich on Monday.
Senior Chase Beach got the win against the Clippers, striking out 7 and giving up just 4 hits in 5 innings. Sophomore Seamus Mahoney gave up 3 hits in 2 relief innings. Beach went 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Junior Ryan O’Keefe and senior Kieran Handville each had 2 RBIs.
Boys and girls tennis both slipped from the ranks of the unbeaten, losing to Martha’s Vineyard and Monomoy. The boys (5-2) were edged 3-2 by the Sharks last Thursday, while the girls (4-3) were beaten 4-1 by Monomoy and then swept by Longmeadow on Friday.
Both teams responded with 4-1 wins over Sandwich on Monday.
Girls lacrosse (7-3) went 2-1 last week. The Warriors were on the wrong end of an 11-9 home match against Falmouth. But they bounced back with an 8-4 win over Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday. Senior Sienna Reeves scored four goals and sophomore Julia Kipperman tallied twice, while senior Ali Hawk notched her first career varsity goal.
The girls made it two straight with a thrilling 14-13 victory at Barnstable on Tuesday.
Boys lacrosse (6-5) dropped a pair of games, falling 16-10 at Falmouth on Thursday before losing 9-5 to Scituate on Saturday. The Warriors (6-5) responded with a 17-10 win over Barnstable on Tuesday.
Nauset softball (2-6) lost 14-2 to Falmouth on Friday.
Girls golf beat Dennis-Yarmouth 5-1 at Bass River Golf Course on Tuesday to move to 3-3 on the season.
