Wellfleet celebrates Luther Childs Crowell (1840-1903), inventor of the square-bottomed paper bag machine, with the annual illumination of Uncle Tim’s Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 13. Meet at Wellfleet Historical Society & Museum (262 Main St.) at 3 p.m. to decorate paper bag lanterns and learn about Crowell’s life and work and walk to the bridge at 4:30 p.m. to display the illuminated lanterns.
