Pedalers, drummers, protesters, jugglers, drag queens, flag wavers, and pirates celebrated their freedoms at three different Outer Cape parades this week.
In Eastham, Sheila and Ralph Holcomb, in collaboration with the police and fire depts., organized a kids’ bike parade in the Luthers Lane neighborhood on Monday.
Wellfleet’s parade on the Fourth featured retiring elementary school Principal Mary Beth Rodman as the grand marshal, along with samba dancers, unicyclists, pirates, and, of course, Paul Suggs and his squirting clam.
In Provincetown, this year’s parade, in the rain, had fifes, drums, Varla Jean Merman, and a Black Lives Matter protest led by Racial Justice Provincetown.
A good time was had by all.
