Select Board Candidates Forum
The Provincetown Independent and the online morning show Wake Up! in Provincetown are co-hosting a forum with the four candidates running for two seats on Provincetown’s select board: Austin Knight, Austin Miller, Erik Borg, and Gordon Siegel. It will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at the Crown & Anchor and will also be streamed live on Wake Up! in Provincetown’s YouTube channel.
Early Voting
There will be two weeks of early voting in advance of the annual town election on May 9.
Beginning on Monday, April 24, voters can cast their ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. only on Saturday, April 29, which is also the last day to register to vote in this election. There is no early voting on Monday, May 8.
In addition to the four select board candidates, the ballot contains uncontested races for the housing authority, school committee, and board of library trustees. There is also Question 1, which is a debt exclusion for a new water line at MacMillan Pier, and Question 2, which is a Proposition 2½ override that will permanently fund new full-time positions in the town’s fire and EMS dept.
The application deadline for a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, May 2 at 5 p.m., although voters are encouraged to apply well in advance of the due date to ensure time for delivery and the return of the ballot before the final deadline for all votes: 7 p.m. on May 9, Election Day. —Paul Benson
