Mila Fae Davies became the first Outer Cape baby of the new decade on Jan. 8, 2020. Mila’s parents, Justine Ives and Edward Davies, braved snowy conditions on Route 6 as they inched along behind a snowplow towards Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth at 1 a.m last Wednesday. Thirteen hours later, Mila was born. She is healthy and strong at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 inches long. Mila joins her brother Rio, who turned two on Jan. 9. Her maternal grandparents are John and Kina Ives of Truro and Florida; her paternal grandparents are Gary Davies and Barbara Hudson, who live in England. The family lives in Provincetown, where Justine is a book designer and illustrator and a dispatcher for Cape Cab and Edward is a bartender at 1620 Brewhouse.
