Housing Plan Survey
The town is currently working to update its 2017 Housing Needs Assessment and Action Plan. The new plan strives for “housing solutions that contribute toward a healthy, equitable, and prosperous community,” according to the housing production plan website.
Town officials are asking for input from residents through an online questionnaire, which should take 15 minutes to complete. The anonymous survey asks participants to recount their Wellfleet housing story and list their hopes and concerns about finding or retaining housing in the future. Find it online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/WellfleetHPP.
The town will also be hosting a virtual community forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8. Registration is required. For details call Assistant Town Administrator Rebecca Roughley at 508-349-0300.
The 2017 plan fell short of its goal of creating 45 new affordable units by October 2022. But the 95 Lawrence Road project, expected to add as many as 46 units, and the nascent Maurice’s Campground project will substantially improve the town’s affordable housing inventory in years to come. —Sam Pollak
