Wellfleet Walks (Saturday, Oct.1)
The Wellfleet Council on Aging’s first walk of the season will meet at the Wellfleet Harbormaster’s Building on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. The volunteer-led groups explore various locations in Wellfleet every Saturday. Fungi Fun (Saturday, Oct. 1)
Get acquainted with the fabulous fungi of the Cape at Edgewood Farm in Truro on Saturday, Oct. 1, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Mycologist Lawrence Millman will discuss fungi’s essential role in our environment, followed by a walk focusing on fungi ecology and how some species recycle, help fight climate change, and even use flies to reproduce. Words and Music (Saturday, Oct. 1)
Writers Lynne Viti and J.D. Scrimgeour will read from their work at the Wellfleet Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2 to 3 p.m., with music by Denya LeVine on fiddle. The event is free, but seating is limited and masks are required.
Good Taste (Saturday, Oct. 1)

Wellfleet SPAT’s Art and Oyster Crawl that was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. has been postponed to Saturday, Oct. 8. Gallery guides and drink cups will be provided, and local shellfishermen will be on hand to discuss their work. Flashlights are recommended to enjoy the event after the early sunset. American Roots (Sunday, Oct. 2)
Truro Vineyards hosts the Vinegrass Music Festival on Sunday, featuring touring Americana artists Golden Oak, Rachel Baiman, Driftwood, and Sicard Hollow. The Wellfleet Affordable Housing Trust and Off Main Gallery presents an art-filled two-day weekend fundraiser, with an exhibition and an outdoor yard sale of art donated by community supporters. All proceeds will support the trust’s mission to create and preserve affordable housing in Wellfleet for low- and moderate-income households.
