Sea, Food (Friday, July 8)
The Truro Public Library hosts David Bates and his sea songs and stories on Friday, July 8, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Celebrate Cape Cod and the sea, as well as traditional maritime songs and folklore. Then, stick around for Food for Kids, a summer food service program offering a free, nutritious lunch for kids ages 1 to 18. This is a weekly event on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until Aug. 26.
Couth Youth (Friday, July 8)
The Provincetown Public Library welcomes children of all ages to Art on the Lawn: on the library’s front lawn, children can experiment with different media and show off their artistry on a large blank canvas. This free recurring event begins Friday, July 8 and continues every Friday through July and August, except Aug. 19, 10 a.m. to noon.
Clowning Around (Saturday, July 9)
The Payomet Performing Arts Center invites families to the Cirque by the Sea’s Summer Social to try different circus arts and enjoy free ice cream. The event takes place under the Payomet Big Top Circus Tent, Saturday, July 9, 1 to 5 p.m. Free; registration not required.
Come Drum (Tuesday, July 12)
The Eastham Public Library welcomes all ages to Drum to the Beat with Otha Day on Tuesday, July 12, 4 to 5 p.m. There will be musical games, rhythm activities, singing, and improvisation. Registration is appreciated at easthamlibrary.org.
One for the Books (Wednesday, July. 13)
The Eastham Public Library hosts the Orleans Firebirds baseball team for a storytime event on Wednesday, July 13, 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Listen, learn, and laugh as players read two books aloud and answer questions. Preregistration is encouraged but not required at easthamlibrary.org.
Teen Drama (Thursday, July 14)
The Wellfleet Public Library invites teenagers to a teen improv workshop with Jennifer Subrin of the Comedy School of Cape Cod on Thursday, July 14, 6 to 7:30 p.m. It’s free; face masks are required.
