Local Yokel (Thursday, June 30)
Wellfleet Preservation Hall presents an artist reception at which Megan Hinton will talk about her outdoor installation “Yokel,” featuring portraits of Wellfleeters painted on scrap lumber. The Art House at 214 Commercial St. presents a series of new shows starting with Tony award winner Victoria Clark on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2, 7 p.m. Judy Gold’s “Yes, I Can Say That” comes to the Art House on Tuesday, July 5 and Wednesday, July 6, 7:30 p.m. RuPaul’s Drag Race star Ginger Minj opens her show of song and comedy on Wednesday, July 6, 9 p.m. Tickets are $75, $30, and $40 respectively at ptownarthouse.com.
Memories Speak (Tuesday, July 5)
The Fine Arts Work Center recently began its weekly summer faculty readings and artist talks. This week memoirist Elissa Altman will read along with poet Gail Mazur. David Hilliard will discuss his photographs. The event, on July 5 at 6 p.m. is free and open to the public and will be held in the center’s Stanley Kunitz Common Room.
Campy (Saturday, July 2)
The Provincetown Business Guild hosts a “Summer Bash” with Camp Lightbulb to honor queer youth and raise funds for their LGBTQ summer camp. The event takes place Saturday, July 2, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harbor Lounge, 359 Commercial St. Tickets are $50 at ptown.org.

The Truro Historical Society presents an art show outside the Highland House Museum, 6 Highland Light Road in Truro, on Sunday, July 3, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Michael Pregot will talk about his book Sea Captains of Cape Cod at the museum on Wednesday, July 6, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dan Haslam’s walking tours of the Highland Historic District continue Thursday, July 7, 10 to 11 a.m. A $10 fee is required of participants at the walking tour. Donations are welcome at all events.
July Jubilee (Monday, July 4)
The Cape Symphony plays a “Joy4July” concert on Monday, July 4, 8 p.m. at Aselton Park on the corner of South and Ocean streets in Hyannis. Guest artists Mark Kopitzke and LaKisha Jones, both of whom have performed previously with the symphony, will sing hits by Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and others.
