The Provincetown Independent publishes obituaries as news stories of lasting interest to the community. We welcome the submission of draft obituaries from family members, close friends, and funeral directors. All are subject to fact-checking and editing.
Send draft obituaries to [email protected]. Include photographs suitable for reproduction as .jpg digital files. Also include the phone number of a family member or friend in case there are questions. The obituaries deadline for each week’s edition is Monday at 5 p.m. for publication on Thursday.
There is never a charge for publishing obituaries or notices of memorial services in the Independent. The editors and staff writers are available for help with composing appropriate stories about the deaths of loved ones. For more information, call 508-237-8381.
