Author and journalist Irena Kowal comes to the Wellfleet Public Library, 55 West Main St., on Thursday, June 23, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., to discuss her novel Displaced, based on the story of her upbringing in the U.S. after her parents escaped Soviet Ukraine during World War II. Author and professor Chad Montrie will be at the library on Tuesday, June 28, 7:30 p.m., to discuss his book Whiteness in Plain View about racial disparities in Minnesota. Trivia Night is Wednesday, June 29, 6 p.m. Face masks required at each of these free events.

The Brewster Book Store at 2648 Main St. welcomes author Elin Hilderbrand on Friday, June 24, 3 to 5 p.m., to sign copies of her newest beach read, The Hotel Nantucket. Then, the Books and Buzz series continues on Thursday, June 30, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, 2624 Main St. in Brewster, with Cape Cod Camino Way: Walking With a Purpose by Peggy Jablonski. ‘Restored, Renewed, Revived, Redeemed…’ (Friday, June 24 & June 29)
The Truro Historical Society celebrates the restoration of the Highland House Museum, 6 Highland Light Road in Truro, with an open house on Friday, June 24, 4 to 6 p.m. On Wednesday, June 29, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Outer Cape Chorale performs a concert at the museum. Donations are welcome.
A Scorcher (Friday, June 24 & Tuesday, June 28)
East End Books Ptown, 389 Commercial St., presents the national launch of a new edition of Tatiana von Furstenberg’s graphic novel My Sunburned Summer on Friday, June 24, 6 p.m. Then, Tuesday, June 28, 6 p.m., Liza Rodman presents the autobiographical The Babysitter: My Summers With a Serial Killer, written with Jennifer Jordan, about Rodman’s childhood spent in the care of Tony Costa. The Eastham Painters Guild presents its second outdoor fine art show on Saturday, June 25, Sunday, June 26, and Thursday, June 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the lawn of the 1869 Schoolhouse Museum, 25 School House Road in Eastham. The Friends of the Eastham Library hosts its annual book sale outside and inside the Eastham Public Library, 190 Samoset Road, on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of hardcover, paperback, children’s books, DVDs, CDs, and more go towards library programming and services.
Hands-On Approach (Saturday, June 25 – Sunday, June 26)

Wellfleet Preservation Hall and the Lily House host their signature Birdhouse Auction and Garden Party to support their year-round programming at Preservation Hall and in the garden behind it, 335 Main St. in Wellfleet.
