Alfred Jacob Pickard Sr. of Joppa, Md. died on Dec. 25, 2021. He was 82.
Born in Wellfleet on Dec. 14, 1939 to Floyd D. and Mary Pickard, he attended the Wellfleet Consolidated School and graduated with the class of 1958.
Following graduation, he was employed by Lane Construction of Meriden, Conn, for whom he worked until his retirement.
He was the husband of the late Alethia Pickard.
He is survived by sons Alfred J. Pickard Jr. and wife Jill Prager, Jeffrey Pickard, and Stephen Pickard and wife Angie Osowski; by their mother, Donna Pickard; by grandchildren Sam, Iris, Ben, Olivia, and Chris, all of Wellfleet; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Floyd D. Pickard Jr. and wife Evelyn of Wellfleet and by his sister Margaret Peters and her husband Gerald of Marshfield.
