Test Kits on the Way
The town health dept. has picked up a limited number of Covid-19 home antigen (rapid) test kits. Health Agent Emily Beebe announced this at the Tuesday night select board meeting, explaining that Truro collaborated with the three other Outer Cape towns to procure 7,500 kits.
How this stash will be divvied up is still being discussed. The towns are now detailing a distribution plan, but Beebe said that a drive-through will be set up.
Proof of residency will be a requirement for receiving a kit, but this documentation “doesn’t have to be a driver’s license necessarily,” Beebe said. A utility bill — or a similar sort of record — could work as well.
The finalized plans were expected to be posted on the Truro website by Wednesday, Jan. 12. The details will also be sent via text or email to those who have signed up for Truro alerts. Those wishing to sign up for the town alerts may do so by going to the truro-ma.gov home page and clicking on the red triangle at the top. —Jasmine Lu
