Lifelong Truro resident Linnell Morris Nickerson died peacefully in her home on Nov. 6, 2021 after living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 75.
Linnell was born and raised in Truro, the daughter of the late Viola and Robert Morris. Over the years, she held a variety of jobs, but her favorite was with the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod. She took great pleasure in caring for people.
Linnell was a skilled craftsperson. She loved to crochet and quilt, she hooked rugs, she sewed and knitted — and especially loved making sweaters and baby clothes for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Linnell also enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. Upon discovering the internet, she followed blogs about the lives of people on farms, finding it interesting how people did the same things in different ways. She worked puzzles in the afternoons and would share her lunch with her granddog.
She was family oriented, spending much time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Dean Nickerson, Rebecca Nickerson, and Lindsay Nickerson, all of Truro, and her stepchildren, Karen Clarkson, Christopher Nickerson, and Richard Nickerson. She also leaves two sisters, Rebecca Morris Whiting of Truro and Joye Daley of New London, Conn. She leaves her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Darren Nickerson.
At Linnell’s request, there will be no services. A gathering to honor her life will be held at a day and time to be announced.
