Fee Infusions
In an effort to secure some future revenue sources for community housing, the town’s Year-Round Market Rate Rental Housing Trust and the Community Housing Council are looking at the possibility of infusions from the short-term rental tax as well as marijuana taxes and fees. The two panels met with Town Manager Alex Morse last month to discuss options. A joint meeting of the trust and housing council has been tentatively set for Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Waterfront Park Views
Morse noted in his latest report that town staff, the East End Waterfront Park Working Group, and Weston and Sampson engineers have hosted four community meetings at the park site and three remote sessions, and conducted surveys to determine what the public would like to see done. Now, at an in-person meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday at the Veterans’ Memorial Community Center, the public can offer opinions on the concepts presented as well as other general comments. It will also be on Zoom for those who can’t attend in person.
Masked Readers
While the town has downgraded its mask mandate to an advisory, the public library still requires masks on anyone two years old and older. The library will resume its regular schedule starting Monday. It’s open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Town boards and committees have several openings. Alternate members are needed on the recycling and renewable energy committee, licensing board, zoning board of appeals, council on aging, planning board, economic development committee, and community housing council. Boards seeking regular members include the council on aging, cultural council, economic development committee, personnel board, disability commission, and community preservation committee. An opening on the Provincetown Public Pier Corp. drew eight interested candidates, but the select board has not yet made an appointment. —Christine Legere
