Nichole Costa (Anderson) Razinha died suddenly on Aug. 18, 2021 at her home in Yarmouth. She was 54. The cause of death is undetermined at this time, said Brian Falvey of the Nickerson Funeral Home in Wellfleet, pending the results of an autopsy.
Nichole was born at Cape Cod Hospital on April 24, 1967, the daughter of Avis Johnson and the late Anthony Costa. She was raised and educated in Provincetown and graduated in 1985 from Cape Cod Tech in Harwich. After graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where she earned a medal as a sharpshooter — a talent she was very proud of. She was stationed in Germany. In 1987, she came back to Provincetown to start a family of her own, which had been her dream since early childhood.
“She was all about her kids,” said her husband, Will. “She had three boys and three girls. Whatever they wanted — it didn’t matter how old they were — the kids came first.
“We did everything together,” he added. “Before work, we’d get coffee together. She was always there for me after work. Home life was everything for her.”
Nichole is survived by her mother, Avis Johnson of Provincetown; her brothers, Peter Costa of Truro and Michael Costa of Eastham; her husband, Wilfred Razinha and their daughter, Chelsea Razinha; and five children from a previous marriage: Tyler Anderson of Provincetown, Rob Anderson and Shane Anderson of Yarmouth, and Ali and Abi Anderson of Vermont. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons, Derrick Kirker and J.J. Russo, and granddaughter Maddie Russo, of Vermont; by her four-legged best friend and constant companion, Bubba; and by many nieces and nephews and countless cousins. Nichole joins her sister and brother, Chelsea and Eben Earnest, who predeceased her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 10 Prince Street in Provincetown, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the church hall. Masks are required. There will be no calling hours or graveside ceremony.
The family asks that mourners “bring your best stories from the days of your friendship and a willingness to share them with her kids and family. They need to hear them.”
