A celebration of the life of Catherine R. Myers, a retired professor of English literature and active Wellfleet volunteer, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, 2357 State Highway Route 6.
Cate died at home on Jan. 27, 2021 of complications related to a stroke. She was 87. Until the fall of 2019, she could often be found at the A.I.M. Thrift Shop on Main Street, where she was a volunteer and board president. She also gave lectures introducing the Metropolitan Opera simulcasts at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater’s Julie Harris Stage and did volunteer work at the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and Wellfleet Public Library.
