Stacie Lynn Enos of Eastham, a longtime Provincetown resident, died at home on July 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was 48.
Born in Barnstable, she was the daughter of Mary “Carol” (Perry) Enos and the late Robert “Reggie” Enos. A talented athlete, she was captain of the basketball and softball teams at Provincetown High School. She was selected as a Cape and Islands League All-Star in softball as both a pitcher and catcher. Younger students looked up to her, and she was respected by her peers.
She had a passion for animals. Starting at age 10, she took care of horses at a local stable. In later life, her household was never without pets. “She never had one of anything,” said Andrew Lindera, her longtime partner. One cat would mysteriously become five and one dog would morph into three.
As a child, she was “Daddy’s girl.” They went to sports events together, and it seemed to the family that she wouldn’t let her father leave the house without her. She enjoyed helping him work the West End flats as shellfish constable. And when they went bird hunting together near Beech Forest, she carried her father’s gun, refusing to surrender it to let him take a shot.
She worked for 17 years at the Mayflower Restaurant. After she met Andrew and they started a family, however, she left work to raise her children.
Stacie will be remembered by all for her kindness. Her relationship with Andrew, in fact, began with an act of kindness. His car broke down in Eastham, and he called a buddy. Stacie answered the phone. He told her what had happened and asked her to deliver the message to his friend. Thirty minutes later she showed up with a tow truck and driver. Andrew was smitten; so was Stacie.
Stacie loved days on the beach, boating, and fishing with her family. A vivacious woman, she had the ability to make anyone, regardless of background or status, feel accepted. Her wit instantly turned strangers into friends. She glowed with good will, and will be sorely missed.
Stacie is survived by her fiancé, Andrew Lindera; her sons, Johnathan and Rayden Lindera; and a daughter, Shae Perry, all of Eastham; by her mother, Carol Enos of Provincetown; and by brothers Glenn A. Enos of Truro, and Scott M. Enos and his wife Christina of North Truro. She also leaves a niece, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5 at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown. Burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery will be private.
Honoring Stacie’s lifelong love of animals, donations in her honor may be made to the Brewster Animal Rescue League, 3981 Main St., Brewster 02631.
